Niezam and Nelly Wedding - Penang

I got chance to shot this newly wed couple, Niezam and Nelly in Penang early this month. My friend have been hired to be their official photographer. And he ask me to join him for this job. Since we will work together after this as a team, I wanna learn his style. Gain any knowledge from his experiences.
Seriously, it is easy working with Niezam and Nelly. They are sweet couple. Both know when to react wih the camera. So i dun have to ask them a lot. They act just normal. No control-control, no feeling shy.. Everything goes very well.
The ceremony start at 8.30 pm and finish nearly 11. So we just shot out from the island because we have another job next morning. Since we finish our job early (estimated will finish at 12 night), we think we might arrive at KL aound 3 am.
But.. something had happen on the brigde. ACCIDENT!!!! And what will happen when there are accident on bridge?.. JAMMED... vehicles moving very slow. Bumper to bumper. And we still on the island and we can see a very-very long queue... Oh my. Will we stuck until morning? Since we don't wanna wait, we wanna try get a ferry. Time is now 11.30pm. And according to my friend, ferry will be one for each hour. And u can guess what also happen at the ferry terminal? Yes.. also a longggggggggggggg queue.
After decided to use a bridge instead waiting for a ferry, we got lost in traffic. Hahahaa... No sign board to follow (typical malaysian road). Jalan-jalan cari jalan... To cut the story, we just arrived at mainland around 1.15 AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and we arrive at KL on 5.30AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn... very tired. But what can we do, poeple pay us to take their photos. So we have to deliver our job.
That is life of being a photographer. And u may notice of their price offer. It is not just cost of printing material, but works, ideas, designs, equipments must be include in the total cost too. That is why you may notice some of them just work for maximum 4 hours for one event and need to pay more for extra added hours.

I'm turn 28.. Oh My... Is it real?
|

Yes.. it is real. I'm 28 on 15th June 2008. And this year, i celebrate my birthday as a father. For a second, i didn't really believe it. I feel just like a dream. How can 28 years = 10220 days = 245280 hours = 14716800 minutes = 883008000 seconds past by so fast. Just like a blink of eyes. But that is reality. We got older and older, day by day. But do we change ourself better and better? or getting more worst?
Sometimes I feel, my attitude still on very low level. Kinda lazy sometimes. I can't continue be like this. I'm a father and a leader of my family. Wake up mizie, wake up.... Change yourself or something bad will happen.
My wife give me a present for my birthday. Thanks dear. I appreciate it and I like it so much. I will wear it everyday, as long as u iron it for me ok? Hehehhee... Love you dear. Please don't buy anything expensive, coz for me it is not important. What really a big deal are, will you love me forever and ever? Will you be with me in any situations? Will you care for me? I know you will. That's why I take you to be my wife, my lover, my friend, my soulmate.
Happy Birthday Mizie, and Happy Fathers Day too.
And what happen last weekend? I took damia to my friend house since I need to meet him to get some insurance policy for my client (Interested to get an insurans for you and your family? ALLIANZ give a great deal right now. Call me for more details). Actually that just a small part. What I really want to do is, take damia to a pool. Let her play with water and how she react.
Damia scream when she touch the water for her first time. Maybe it's kinda chill a bit. Papa can see damia shivering. But that only last for first minute. And later on.... below pictures will tell you the story. Damia love water so much. Papa and mama feel very happy when we see damia having fun and enjoy playing with water. Damia progress is marvelous.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Papa and mama keep close monitoring on damia progress. Keep watching on how damia react and response with sound and colors. And what papa and mama realize now, damia can recognize us. She know who is her parents.

Damia and Mama in Studio
|
|
Wanna see damia and mama in action while in studio? It is not a big studio, just a DIY studio I made it in my house. Very simple setup. Damia and mama wear all white.
And yes, very very hard to get damia pose to the camera.
Today is damia 5 months birthday. Hip Hip Horray!!! And damia got her 5 month jab at her pead. Damia didn't cry at all. Well behave damia. Papa and mama proud of you. Usually we meet Dr. Rahaya when we visit the clinic, but today we were entertaint by Dr. Fahmi. He's very nice doctor. Both of them are nice. We feel comfortable when we at the clinic. Seriously, it is hard to find a good bumiputera clinic either good in service, clean etc etc. Since I have found it, so i stick with this one.
Damia also being weight and measured. She's now 6.6kg and 69cm. Her BMI is just 13.86. It is not ideal body mass index. Very skinny. Hahaha... BMI is a measurement for adult only lah.. Not for baby. Damia is soo heavy now. I can feel my muscle strecth up while holding her.

Busy weekend during cuti sekolah
|
|
Yes. My weekend schedule is so tight. But why? My daughter not in school yet. She's just 5 months.
- Going holiday? Nope, we just stay at home.
- Visiting parents? Nope, answer as above.
Actually my weekend packed with shooting weddings. Yes, I have start making money from my passion. Saturday and sunday. Morning till evening. And I have to leave mama and damia at home. Sorry my love. Papa doing this just for us to have a better living in future.
Last week was my first assignment as an official photographer for a wedding, eventhough I have been doing this nearly two year for sake of hobby. I work together with my friend, Syeffy (http://syeffphotography.tripod.com/) who have been in this industry for a long time. It is quite tiring but fun and challenging. I have a great time and enjoy it so much.
So i put here preview pictures of the wedding. It's my friend, Sharizal and his wife Ufairah. He's my classmate when we study together at Taiping. Full picture will be upload in my other site (http://mizieahmad.blogspot.com).

Update about damia. Next week she will be 5 months old. And what can she do now? Damia dah boleh meniarap. Papa and mama very proud. Damia now training intensively day by day to perfect the position, coz sometimes her hand stuck under her tummy  . Before this, she will cry after 2-3 attemps because it is unsuccessful. But now, even during make-up time, she will not stay still anymore. When damia menirap while naked, we feel wanna bite her bum coz it is sooooooo cute!!!!!!!!
Next week papa will be in Penang and Hulu Langat for another shooting. Damia must behave while stay at home with mama ok? Mama friends will accompany them while papa away. Papa pray for mama and damia safety. Be carefull ok.

D50 have built in motor than enable it to be use with any auto focus (AF) lens while D40, D40x and D60 just can be used with lens that have built in motor. My wide angle sigma for SALE!!

papa will sell his beloved wide angle sigma 17-35 f2.8-4 EX Aspherical. this lens have been served very well to me. but now papa have to move on, to get new lens as papa now venture into wedding photography. so papa need some money to funding papa new lens.
this lens is superb. a very good wide angle lens. fit for nikon SLR camera. new nikon D40 and D60 cannot use this lens (most of nikon d40 and d60 users sell their camera after 1 months using it - coz that camera cannot be use with other lens that not have motor build in the lens).
why wide angle? for SLR user, u dun have to move far backward to shoot a huge-huge group photo.
what u get when u buy this lens from me? You will get the lens pouch, both front and rear caps and also the hood. and guess what, papa will give 82mm HOYA UV filter worth RM 180 FREE.

Susu Oh Susu

We bought new formula milk for damia last week. S-26. I think most of you (who have child) know about this brand. After consulted by some friends, we think to give a try.
Don't get us wrong. Breast milk is the best for baby. But lately mama didn't produce more milk. Just can supply damia 10 ounce per day while she stay with her babysitter. I think it is not enough. We have tried Enfalac before. Seems damia don't like it as she will take it out after she suck the bottle. Clever girl. Damia can diffirentiate between her mom's with formula.
It's hard to find formula milk in small packaging. We just wanna buy it as a 'experiment'. What a waste if I buy 1kg but damia just try it for 1 scoop? We live in the era where all stuff is very expensive and people become poorer everyday. Ratio of money you earn every months with expenses you make is not balance. And I believe most of you hardly to make a saving every months. Am I right?
Oppsss... I don't wanna talk about "world's problems" here.
So back to my main entry. Do you have same problems with me? Maybe you can share your experiences.
We will be enjoy our weekend this week in Melaka. Tok ayah and tok ibu miss damia so much.

We are back!!

Alhamdullilah after spent 4 days in perak, we arrieved safely back to serdang. 4 and half hours non-stop drive. A bit tired actually.
We have enjoyed our holiday with tok ayah and mak tok at kampung. Damia has so much fun there. She has a great fun too with her grandparent. Not like damia first visit before. She is totally different. Papa and mama can see how happily tok ayah and mak tok play with damia. We'll visit them again, damia.
We spent most of our time around the house. Just bring mama and damia to kenduri. Mama kinda shy to get more food (even she has finished her plate before).
This time, mama have opportunity to see greeny paddy field. Last time, we so unlucky because it was harvesting season. Papa also try to fishing around the area, but sorry no catch at all. Papa's hand kinda 'suey' lately.
 
 
Papa has admired work by Ted Adnan for a long time. Since papa don't have enough equipment before, papa put this work aside. Eventhough papa's equipment still not complete yet (umbrella, light stand etc), some basic setup can be achievable. First papa thought the setting might be difficult, but after 2-3 trial and error, papa got the idea how the picture being shot. Papa need to master the skill to cross balance between ambient light (sorry, a bit technical) with main light (flash), reading ambient light and compensate with flash power level, and some technical parts too.
These are the shots that papa manage to take during the photoshoot.

Oh Perak.. Here we come!!

Today papa, mama and damia will have a long journey. KAMI BALIK KAMPUNG!!! Damia wanna see her tok ayah and mak tok after we visit them a month and a half ago. This time damia will be playable for tok ayah and mak tok (since last visit, damia kinda meragam since baru habis pantang).
Papa and mama have packed all stuff inside the car this morning. So we plan to move out after office hour. Hope we can arrive there around 10pm. Papa's friend will follow us too, just until Kuala Kangsar.
Lastest pic of damia, papa try to get black background for damia's new potrait shot. The setup is very simple. Papa put damia on the sofa. Since the sofa is dark brown, so it suit papa's setup. Since bounce flash with lighted up surrounding area, papa try CLS. Papa's voice activated light stand (mama), move around to get better exposure. A bit burning using photoshop, and these are the results. Need more improvement later, but this shoot is still great.
Next time we try outdoor shoot ok?

Papa got his "not-so-new" gadget
|
|
Recently papa just bought a 2nd-hand Nikon D200. Even though papa has dreaming of it for a long time (Nikon pun dah launch new D300), just until now papa can hold it. Feels so fantastic and can wait for my wedding assignment this May. Watch out!!
And for sure mama and damia will be papa's experimental subject. Papa doesn't need anything, just smile to the cam and papa will do the rest. OK?!!
Since my friends organized a birthday party for his daugther, so i take this chance to test my camera. Alhamdullilah, she performs well and I'm so happy with the result. Colors, contrast, everyting in order. And Nikon CLS is working fine too. Just me who sometimes do some simple mistake, forgot to chance current sentting and sometimes let the flash bounce in the wrong way. I must not to repeat the same mistake again. As for me "MOMENT WILL NOT COME TWICE".
Papa also have setup a new blog just for papa photography works. This fotopages will remain as family site, since it is easy for papa and mama do some update here.
